Culleton’s Walk-off Gives Summerside 18U AA Chevys Victory Over Stratford Athletics

Summerside 18U AA Chevys seized victory in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off single at the end of the game to topple Stratford Athletics.  The game was tied at three with Summerside 18U AA Chevys batting in the bottom of the seventh when Garrett Culleton singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Stratford Athletics got things started in the first inning when Sam Worth singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Owen Lynch got the win for Summerside 18U AA Chevys. He went one and one-third innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out one.

Ethan Smith took the loss for Stratford Athletics. He allowed nine hits and four runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out eight and walking zero.

 Connor Ellsworth started the game for Summerside 18U AA Chevys. He went five and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on two hits and striking out nine

Summerside 18U AA Chevys collected nine hits.  Culleton, Parker Gallant, and Kalib Snow all managed multiple hits for Summerside 18U AA Chevys.  Snow, Gallant, and Culleton all had two hits to lead Summerside 18U AA Chevys.  Summerside 18U AA Chevys didn’t commit a single error in the field. Duncan Picketts had  ten chances in the field, the most on the team.

Smith led Stratford Athletics with two hits in four at bats.

Summerside 18U AA Chevys Beats Stratford Athletics in Low-Scoring Affair

Both teams were strong on the pitcher’s mound Sunday, but Summerside 18U AA Chevys defeated Stratford Athletics 3-1. Summerside 18U AA Chevys pitchers allowed just four hits to Stratford Athletics.

Summerside 18U AA Chevys evened things up at one in the bottom of the third inning when Connor Ellsworth singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.


Summerside 18U AA Chevys pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning.  In the fourth Jacob Dunn singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.

Dunn pitched Summerside 18U AA Chevys to victory. He surrendered one run on four hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out eight.  Evan MacDougall threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.  MacDougall recorded the last out to earn the save for Summerside 18U AA Chevys.

Tyler Taylor took the loss for Stratford Athletics. He lasted six innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out seven.

Duncan Picketts, Liam Greenan, Ellsworth, and Dunn each managed one hit to lead Summerside 18U AA Chevys.

Stratford Athletics was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Ethan Murphy made the most plays with  ten.
