Game #1
The Summerside 11U AAA Chevys swept their best of 3 series with the Charlottetown Royals by winning 2 games at Gordie Arsenault Field Sunday morning. The the opening game the Chevys were led by a dominant pitching performance by starter Ben Connolly who struck out 12 while allowing only 1 hit over 5 innings to pick up the 6-0 win. Brady DesRoches worked around a pair of walks to close out the game. The Chevys were led at the plate by Caleb Adams who went 1-1 with a walk and 2 runs scored and Ben MacGregor 1-1 with a walk. Ashton Campbell, Griffen Campbell and Quinn Praught also picked up hits for Summerside. Lucas Matheson had the lone hit for the Royals.
Game #2
In the second game the Chevys were once again led by great pitching. Caleb Adams struck out 11 over 4.2 innings to earn the win with relief help from Griffen Campbell.Ashton DesRoches, Griffen Campbell, Brady DesRoches and Henry Patterson each had 2 hits to lead the Chevys offensively. Ben Connolly, Jackson Ramsay, Brody Noye and Riley Cormier also contributed hits. Lucas Hillier and Josh Lawlor has the hits for Charlottetown. The Chevys advance to the league championship game Friday evening. Their opponent is yet to be determined.
