SUMMERSIDE, PE – The Township Chevys and Atlantic Baseball Academy have entered into a partnership to increase the baseball development opportunities available to all players and coaches within Summerside Baseball. As part of the agreement, Atlantic Baseball Academy will be the Official Development Partner of the Township Chevys throughout the 2021 season.
The partnership is the first of its kind for both Summerside Baseball (SABA) as well as Atlantic Baseball Academy. Starting this month and continuing through the summer, Atlantic Baseball Academy will deliver clinics, camps, training sessions, and coach development sessions aimed at improving upon SABA’s historic track record of developing quality baseball players and coaches.
Summerside Baseball’s President and General Manager, Tanner Doiron, is looking forward to the opportunities this partnership will add to the Association’s membership. “Today, we are making a significant investment into our membership and association as a whole. With this exciting new partnership with ABA, we will bring stability to our baseball development department and further create boundless opportunities for our members. We are confident that with the expertise, experience and commitment of ABA’s talented instructors, we will give our members the tools they need to further their game and represent the Chevys at every level possible.” said Doiron.
Summerside Baseball is proud of its continued growth and strives to be innovative in creating partnerships just like this. Of course, it would not be made possible without the support and commitment from its Major Sponsor, Township Chevrolet and likewise, the City of Summerside who offer the zero-dollar usage fee model for its beautiful outdoor facilities that allow SABA to recoup funds and direct them to focus on the importance of things like development.
Andrew MacNevin, Owner of Atlantic Baseball Academy, believes a partnership like this can only improve upon the great work being done Island-wide by Baseball PEI’s Associations. “We are excited as an organization to have the opportunity to work with Summerside Baseball. The Township Chevys have a history of success on the field, and we look forward to expanding upon player and coach development, from the grassroots through all divisions in the Association,” added MacNevin.
In the coming days, more information will be released relating to camps and clinics that will be offered ahead of the upcoming season, including specific pitching, catching, infielding, and hitting camps.
