McCormack’s Walk-Off Picture Perfect Ending In Summerside 18U AA Chevys Victory Over Stratford

A walk-off error propelled Summerside 18U AA Chevys to a decisive, dramatic victory over Stratford, 10-9. The game was tied at nine with Summerside 18U AA Chevys batting in the bottom of the sixth when an error scored one run for Summerside 18U AA Chevys.

Summerside 18U AA Chevys earned the victory despite allowing Stratford to score six runs in the first inning.  Tyler Taylor, Carter Smith,  Ryan Storr, and Brady Story each had RBIs in the big inning.

Stratford got things moving in the first inning.  Taylor drove in two when he singled.

Parker Gallant was the winning pitcher for Summerside 18U AA Chevys. He surrendered two runs on one hit over two and a third innings, striking out two.

Taylor took the loss for Stratford. He went five and two-thirds innings, allowing ten runs on 12 hits, striking out four and walking one.

Connor Ellsworth started the game for Summerside 18U AA Chevys. He allowed seven hits and seven runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out eight

Summerside 18U AA Chevys tallied 12 hits in the game.  Ellsworth, Cody McCormack, and Evan MacDougall each racked up multiple hits for Summerside 18U AA Chevys. McCormack and Ellsworth each collected three hits to lead Summerside 18U AA Chevys.

Stratford collected eight hits.  Smith and Taylor each had multiple hits for Stratford.

Game #2

Summerside 18U AA Chevys Downs Stratford, 7-2

Summerside 18U AA Chevys took home a 7-2 victory over Stratford on Monday.

Summerside 18U AA Chevys got things started in the second inning when Jacob Dunn singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Summerside 18U AA Chevys scored three runs in the sixth inning.  Summerside 18U AA Chevys put the pressure on, lead by a triple by Ty Arsenault and a double by Parker Gallant.

Dunn led the Summerside 18U AA Chevys to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He went six and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on six hits, striking out eight and walking one. Arsenault threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Ethan Smith started the game for Stratford. He surrendered five runs on nine hits over five innings, striking out nine.  Carter Smith threw one inning out of the bullpen.

Summerside 18U AA Chevys tallied 11 hits on the day.  Arsenault, Dunn, Connor Ellsworth, and Gallant each racked up multiple hits for Summerside 18U AA Chevys.  Gallant, Ellsworth, Dunn, and Arsenault all had two hits to lead Summerside 18U AA Chevys.

Stratford didn’t commit a single error in the field.
