July 16th vs Sherwood Knights
Bouncing back from a previous loss to Sherwood in 11U AAA league play, the Summerside Chevys dropped the Knights 7-2 at Gordie Arsenault Field Thursday evening. Ben Connolly struck out 7 over 4 innings to pick up the win with 2 shutout innings of relief from Caleb Adams to seal the victory. Henry Patterson’s RBI base hit opened the scoring in the first inning for the Chevys who ended up plating 3 runs in the frame. Summerside added 3 more in the fourth with 3 consecutive hits from Ashton Desroches, Jackson Ramsay and Riley Cormier. Liam Moore drove in 2 runs in the 5th to bring Sherwood closer before Adams came in the snuff out the rally. Summerside improved to 3-2 while Sherwood dropped to 4-3.
July 18th vs Mid-Isle Mustangs
The Township 11U AAA Chevys won their second in a row by defeating the Mid Isle Mustangs 12-4 Saturday morning at Gordie Arsenault Field. Summerside scored 5 runs in the 3rd inning to take a 6-3 lead and didn’t look back. Brady DesRoches picked up the pitching win in relief of Liam MacDonald. Summerside was lead at the plate by Jackson Ramsay 2-2 with a walk, MacDonald 2-2 and Ashton DesRoches who went 2-3. Cole Callaghan 1-1 with a walk led the Mustangs offensively. The win improved the Chevys record to 4-2 good for second place in the 5 team league. Mid Isle dropped to 3-3.
