Summerside U13 A Chevys #1 Clinches Lead in Sixth Inning for Victory Over Western


Summerside U13 A Chevys#1
 snatched the lead late in the game in a 9-8 victory over Western on Sunday. The game was tied at seven with Summerside U13 A Chevys#1 batting in the top of the sixth when Harper Leard reached on a dropped third strike.

There was plenty of action on the basepaths as Summerside U13 A Chevys#1 collected eight hits and Western had eight.

In the first inning, Western got their offense started when Ashton Gaudet singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Western scored three runs in the third inning. Western batters contributing to the big inning included Gaudet and Pierson DesRoche, all driving in runs in the frame.

Jett Doiron earned the victory on the mound for Summerside U13 A Chevys#1. He surrendered one run on two hits over one inning, striking out one and walking zero. Gavin O’KeefeKoen Costain, and Leard all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

Joshah Gallant was on the pitcher’s mound for Western. He surrendered two runs on zero hits over two innings, striking out five. AJ PitreDesRoche, and Tony Taylor each contributed in relief for Western.

Connor Martin started the game for Summerside U13 A Chevys#1. He surrendered one run on one hit over one inning, striking out one.

Summerside U13 A Chevys#1 launched one home run on the day. Austin Mulligan went deep in the fifth inning.

Colton Nicholson led Summerside U13 A Chevys#1 with two hits in four at bats. Summerside U13 A Chevys#1 tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Nicholson led the way with two.

Western tallied eight hits on the day. Luke MacKinnon and Gaudet all collected multiple hits for Western. MacKinnon went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Western in hits. Western stole 11 bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Riley MacKendrick led the way with two.
