SUMMERSIDE, PE – Summerside Area Baseball Association announced today that they have added two members to its Chevys baseball development department. Jackson Slauenwhite (New Haven, PEI native) who has been has been named Mental Performance Consultant while Brett Platts (Albany, PEI native) has been named Strength & Conditioning Consultant.
“We are excited to add Jackson and Brett to our team. Jackson has worked with our teams in the past and the feedback was excellent so we are really happy to have him re-join our group. As for Brett, he is doing great things in his respective field at a young age and is highly motivated to help our program. As a Chevys alumni, he understands our values and goals, and will be a good fit for us. These are two great guys with a passion for baseball who want to help develop our players and bring their game to the next level.”

About Slauenwhite (Mental Performance Consultant)
- Professional member of the Canadian Sport Psychology Association (CSPA).
- Graduated from Western University with masters degree in Sport Psychology and coaching in 2017.
- Bachelor of Arts in physchlogy from UPEI in 2015.
- Has won a baseball National Title at the 18U level
- Mental Performance Consultant at the CHL level, AUS level, etc.
- Has worked with National bodies like Hockey Canada.
About Platts (Strength & Conditioning Consultant)
- Current Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Okotoks Dawgs Baseball Academy
- Played at nationally ranked junior college, Southeastern Community College
- Member of the Team Atlantic T12.
- Attended Okotoks Dawgs Baseball Academy
- 2016 Tanner Craswell and Mitch MacLean Memorial Bursary recipient.
- Member of the 2015 and 2016 PEI Canada Cup Team
Both Slauenwhite and Platts will become available for teams through virtual sessions as soon as the tryout process is completed and rosters are finalized. Once the pandemic restrictions are eased, both consultants will look to become available for in person sessions.
Summerside Baseball looks forward to having both individuals start working with its teams this summer.

Summerside Area Baseball Association (SABA) is the governing body of minor baseball in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, and surrounding communities and has been growing the game since 1981. It is Baseball PEI’s largest association with 300 + players registered per season. SABA offers Baseball opportunities to children 4 years of age up to 18 years of age.
