SUMMERSIDE, PE – COVID-19 remains to be a concern across the globe and restrictions are still in place for various types of facilities as a result. Operational plans have been made in order to keep patrons safe as we navigate through the remaining risk of this pandemic.
Below is the current working operational plan for the Queen Elizabeth Park facility. Subject to change throughout the summer.
- LEGENDS FIELD ENTRANCE: Anyone looking to access Legends Field are asked to enter into Queen Elizabeth Park through the entrance off of Green Street. Players & Staff can enter right onto the outfield while spectators can take the path leading to the grandstands.
- VIV FIELD ENTRANCE: Anyone looking to access VIV Field are asked to enter into Queen Elizabeth Park through the access gate on Beattie Avenue and turn right followed by keeping on the track and following the arrows until they reach the VIV field entrance.
- GORDIE ARSENAULT FIELD ENTRANCE: Anyone looking to access Gordie Arsenault Field are to enter into Queen Elizabeth Park through the access point by alongside Parkside School Gym.
- PCH FIELD ENTRANCE: Another looking to access PCH Field are to enter through the access gate on Beattie Avenue and walk straight, directly into the area of the PCH Field and bleachers.
Members are asked to exit through the same way that they entered into the Queen Elizabeth Park.
Good news for the 2021 summer season! Spectators are now permitted inside the park. Maximum spectator capacity limits are in place due to COVID-19.
- LEGENDS FIELD COHORT RESTRICTIONS: 2 cohorts of 50. (100 person maximum).
- VIV FIELD COHORT RESTRICTIONS: 2 cohorts of 50. (100 person maximum).
- GORDIE ARSENAULT FIELD ENTRANCE: 2 cohorts of 50 (50 person cohort inside the grandstand area, another 50 person cohort allowed in the outfield area)
- PCH FIELD ENTRANCE: 1 cohort of 50. (50 person maximum)
Unfortunately, the washrooms will still not be accessible for the general public. Players and Staff can access them by going to the canteen to sign out the key and returning it when finished. The washrooms will remained locked at all other times.
As for the Chevys Canteen, it will operate this season. However, walk ups won’t be permitted. Orders will be delivered to your seat. More details on this will be released in the coming days.
Baseball PEI has updated its Return to Play guidelines for the 2021 season. This includes the wearing of masks for players and coaches inside the dugouts. For more information on Baseball PEI’s Return to Play guidelines, visit www.baseballpei.ca

Summerside Area Baseball Association (SABA) is the governing body of minor baseball in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, and surrounding communities and has been growing the game since 1981. It is Baseball PEI’s largest association with 300 + players registered per season. SABA offers Baseball opportunities to children 4 years of age up to 18 years of age.
