11U “AAA” Chevys Split Double Header

The Summerside 11U AAA Chevys split a doubleheader with the league leading Eastern Express Thursday evening at Gordie Arsenault Field. Summerside was backed by a strong pitching performance by Ben Connolly and built a 6-1 lead Before holding on for a 6-5 win. Connolly allowed just 1 run and struck out 6 over 4 1/3 innings. Brady DesRoches closes things out for Summerside. Ashton DesRoches went 2-3 to lead the Chevys at the plate while Connolly, Riley Cormier, Griffen Campbell, Caleb Adams and Jackson Ramsay also had hits. In the second game Eastern We’re led by a great pitching performance from Brennen Doyle and plated the winning run in the 6th inning to take the 4-3 win. Summerside got terrific pitching once again from Liam MacDonald and Henry Patterson in the losing effort. Ashton Desroches again led the offensive effort going 2-3. Patterson, Ben MacGregor, Liam MacDonald and Brady DesRoches also had hits. The Chevys maintain their second place position with a record of 8-4. Eastern remain in first place sitting with an 8-2 record.
